Before |
- Decide
how many people are going to be in your group and what kind of
budget each person or couple has or expects to spend.
- Now
is the time to decide whether you want to get a limousine and
how large it needs to be. Make sure everyone understands there
will be a deposit due prior to reserving the vehicle and they
need to start saving their share. Set a due date for each person's
limo deposit.
- Delegate
the responsibilities of limo shopping and restaurant shopping.
- Enlist
a parent to assist in the process and accept responsibility for
the limousine reservation since an adult will have to sign for
the vehicle reservation. We suggest the parent should set up a
payment plan with an immediate up front payment from all the participants
to cover the initial deposit. (Our experience says there is no
other alternative, short of the parent footing the bill.) Teens
tend to change their relationships frequently. We've had instances
of 7 couples dwindle to 0 from booking to prom date, because of
personal bickering between couples and/or individuals.
-
Buy or get a book on etiquette. Social Savvy by Judith
Re or Esquire Etiquette by Waggoner & Moloney
are 2 examples. Brush up on table manners and other topics you'll
face during the evening, share the book with your friends and
your date.
